In the not too distant future, the gap between the small percentage of ultra rich compared to the working class poor has widened immensely. Many people are drowning in debt that they can never hope to repay. The law has changed to address their needs by bringing back indentured servitude. Any adult can contract with a brokerage agency to sell their services at a certain price for an agreed to period of time to someone of means looking for labor that does not fall under employment laws. The slaves who are willing to become personal slaves (i.e., sex slaves) come with the highest price tags. Each slave has to decide for themselves how far they are willing to give control over their bodies to their new masters. The people who pay dearly for such a slave do so for various reasons. Some like the no-strings attached sex. Others have more complicated agendas. Each slave has no choice but to do their master’s bidding—that is the deal. And if any slave reneges, the money is lost and the debt grows. It is a desperate business transaction. Love is not supposed to enter the equation, but somehow it still does.
