Review by Alan Chan
I was so pleased to see Leonard Day getting his story told, a good natured character introduced in the earlier novel. And nice to see Kieran and Kennedy return for a small supporting cameo. Any Day tells the tale of two older men, Leonard and Adrian, both pushing fifty, a demographic not often addressed in gay fiction. Both men are now older, gay and out, and both have lived tough lives and ended up alone. Add to the mix a home in Wales that Leonard has inherited from his late father, something he knew nothing about, with a family mystery tied to the area, and the story draws towards an explosive conclusion. A little different to Lancaster’s other books but equally enjoyable.
