In anyone else’s hands but S.A. McAuley this series and this relationship could have been a muddy mess, instead it became one of magnificent passion, love and commitment to each other in the face of obstacles (realistic ones within this world building) that should have killed them. And often came close. The Borders War is a magnificent series and it deserves its equal in a final story. It gets it in Strength of the Rising Sun. This story was the equivalent of running through a narrative mine field, you just didn’t know it at the beginning. I have no idea how S. A.McAuley will top this. Not a clue. So. Love science fiction and enemy to lovers story? Well, this is so much more. It sexy, violent, passionate, layered, complex and agonizing on the heart at best. But its one I wouldn’t want you to pass up. One of Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Best of 2016.

So wow I really do not know how to start… It is just everything that happened in this book I still can not wrap my head around it and this book surprised me and wow I can not put into words how much I loved it! his series was amazing and I loved it! I really hope there will be more and I can not recommend this series enough for those who love Dystopia books like I do and can deal with a world where there is a war these men are fighting which will have violence and dark parts but will also show you what people must do to survive in the world they are living in.

The final book in Merq and Armise’s part of this mind-blowing series is worse than any previous volumes in terms of gutting me, making me cry, and leaving me feeling raw for days. I suspect it will take me quite a while to deal with the emotional effects of these books. I’ll have to read them all again, this time knowing the outcome because I think they will be even more astounding with that understanding, If you’re ready for an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions, and if you think you’re up to the challenge of dealing with the war atrocities, extreme violence, and psychological abuse so prevalent in this series, give these books a go. ‘The Borders War’ with its scarily accurate vision of one possible future for humankind is one of the best science fiction series I have ever read.

This book...OMG!...THIS BOOK! This phenomenal series has had me on a knife edge from the day I picked up One Breath, One Bullet and there have been times when I've despaired about how the final outcome would—or could— ever play out. You can not relax for one minute with this saga or take anything for granted! A master class in how to intricately build a complex universe and interweave it with the type of storyline so cleverley plotted throughout, that you can never once predict it's next move or incarnation, and that in itself is glorious. A master manipulator and emotional assassin; S.A. McAuley didn't just nail this final episode she killed it... and me in the process. But what a way to go!
