Despite the novella length, all the characters felt fleshed out and three-dimensional, including the side characters. The plot offers no surprises. And yet I felt like I was reading romance for the first time, falling in love with two great guys and watching with a happy sigh as they in turn fell in love. The strengths of the story are in the strong characters that you sympathize with and perhaps secretly envy a little, and in the dialogue that’s realistic, witty, and funny. The writing flows with ease and the pace is just right, balanced between delicious dialogue, meeting friends and family, and sweet sensual and sexual scenes.

I have to say this was such a great, simple, fun, Sunday, lazy, rainy day read. Only about 90 pages, so pour a cup of tea grab a blanket, snuggle down and go. Brent and Logan are clumsy cute with each other and the other cast mates are a perfect blend to help the story along.

This was a sweet romance and fast easy read. Very little angst but I did shed a few tears, I am a sucker for romance. Brent is your typical mans man and Logan is your typical geek. Total opposites but they hit it off from the start. I loved how Brent just jumped in head first with the whole Doctor Who thing just so he would have something to talk to Logan about. Their relationship was so sweet and loving and I didn't want their story to end. I will have to say I will always think of Logan when I see a Tardis blue shirt!

N.R. Walker took men of different personalities and created a synergy of friendship, admiration, and acceptance in Taxes and Tardis. Ms. Walker captivated my attention the moment I learned tardis was an unusual blue color and had to do with the show Doctor Who. And it just kept getting better. I may have fallen in love with Brent, but Logan’s geeky demeanor and glasses rang my bell as Ms. Walker delivered nerdy sex appeal wrapped up in a vest.

Sweet and sexy and very warm... a fun, easy story. I really think this is a book that will appeal to most folks out there [...] if you like opposites attract you should definitely give Taxes & TARDIS a try.

I was so charmed by this sweet and light love story. It was simply delightful. There wasn't any angst between them and I liked that about their story. It was easy.

Taxes & TARDIS is one of those titles I couldn’t resist purely because of the geek factor. At its core, Taxes & TARDIS is a sweet, opposites attract love story. There is a tiny amount of angst towards the end, but overall it is just the story of two men falling in love and finding a middle ground. A read for a day at the beach, or anytime you need a geeky little pick me up. If you are a Dr. Who fan, as I am, you really shouldn’t miss this title!

The TARDIS part – the author did a wonderful job of using it to illustrate different individual tastes and hobbies, and how the couple learned to mesh them together. It was a very nice character driven story with some smoking sex. It is a sweet little m/m romance that will make a nice bedtime story. Happy dreams.

This is a cute, short lovestory between a Texas good ol' boy, and a geeky Brit accountant. Brent is burly, former football star who is an electrician with his own business and a shoe box of receipts for his new accountant, Logan. They meet at Logan's office and Brent isn't sure why he's attracted, but he is. He can't hep picking up Dr. Who on DVD in order to get more insight into the slight young man with the cute glasses. Logan is slowly turning Brent into a better bookmaker. They get him a laptop, and a spreadsheet and spend a lot of time getting to know each other--and watching Dr. Who. It's all very sweet. Until Logan meets some of Brent's brute friends who have some decidedly un-charitable comments about Brent's geek boyfriend. I loved the sweetness here, and how Brent really wanted to make a lasting connection. The end was heart-melting.

This quick read is a fun and sweet romance. Brent, the electrical contractor who lives in plaid and denim, plays pool with his friends and enjoys to drink is also a player. He has no interest in entanglements – until he drops off his shoe box of receipts to his new accountant, Logan. Then everything changes. I enjoyed how they dealt with each other's differences and appreciated how it changed them for the better. The side characters added depth and set up some of the twists nicely. All in all a good way to spend an evening. I enjoyed the Dr. Who references too!
