Ms. Scott provided a fantastic story with passionate personalities. The secondary characters added life to the tale and I look forward to reading each of the brother’s story and the others at Crooked Tree Ranch. R.J. Scott never disappoints in her writing, creating a world the bounces off the pages and captures one’s attention A terrific start to a new series, and one that I will definitely be reading.

RJ Scott sure can write her cowboys. I love them. I always get totally involved in the characters and end the book wanting more.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a great story with a plot that builds and holds your attention, but it’s the characters who drive it to a satisfactory ending.

The relationship with Nate and Jay was quick and easy. They do have a battle of wits, but everything, for the most part, moves smoothly and issues are settled without any angst. The sex between them was smoldering; loved that! I am hopeful that now that the groundwork is laid, the following stories will be a little more action packed.
RJ Scott is a favorite author of mine, an insta-buy author and guilty pleasure, so I am sure most readers will be tickeld pink and hog-tied to get their paws on this new series. Enjoy.

I adored this book. I love just about everything Crooked Tree Ranch has to offer – the writing, the story, the characters, and the complete-but-not-finished plot. I cannot wait to see what this author has coming up. Will it be another Jay and Nate story? Sam? Ethan? Someone entirely different? I don’t know, but I look forward to finding out.

CROOKED TREE RANCH is an engaging start to a new series from RJ Scott, and like all of her stories, it's warm, wonderful and has a touch of sass. And as always, it is incredibly well written. This has complex characters with the city Jay versus the country Nate dynamic working here.
This is book one in a series, but it stands alone as a complete story on its own. I am looking forward to both of the next books, which I hope deals with the other two families that own Crooked Tree, and that the mystery exposed in this story gets resolved.

I loved this story, it had just the right amount of everything to keep me turning the pages and having me scouring the internet for hints about future books, it had me secretly grinning that it had sexy cowboys and I’d snatched the book right out from under Cat’s nose *raspberry*. It got my mind flying off wondering what happened to the young teenagers who had disappeared… *R.J. I want to know… NOW*, it had me sighing over family and the changes that security and a fresh start can bring. It’s a very fulfilling story that doesn’t have a miss, it hits the spot from every aspect, and I am really hoping that R.J. coughs up the next in the series pretty quickly.
I recommend this story if you love cowboys, city guys, sexy men, family drama, a lingering mystery, some hot sex, a great story, brilliant characters, and some brilliant writing. Oh and if you can read! LOL, R.J. I am expecting you to write like the wind and have sore fingers in the near future

Being a big fan of this genre and of the author Mrs R.J. Scott, I was extremely excited to have the chance to review this first book in a new series by this author.
One thing that is very likable is the connection between not only the main characters but also the families. A thing Mrs. Scott is very capable of doing I can say from experience. Besides the main characters Jay and Nate you also feel the moments between Gabe and Ashley and even the youngsters Luke, Kirsten and Little Josh.
Summing this story up with one word? That would be Family.
