Xondra Day's, Men of Buckshot Ranch series, is set during the late 1880‘s in Montana, a time when it was even more dangerous to be gay than it is today. Once Will is introduce into the story the pace of the book really picks up. You can see the connection between Jay and Will and know this relationship is one that is meant to be long term. I did find the jumping back and forth between the past and present a little annoying but understand why the author did it. While I thought the story could have covered the relationship between Jay and Will more, I am hoping they will continue to show up in future stories. Jay is a fast paced story that historical fans are sure to enjoy. The unanswered questions in this book, such as who saw Mark and Jay, what will Will's ex do, if anything, and how long before the towns people find out about their new teacher, will hopefully be answered in the next installment. http://top2bottomreviews.wordpress.com/2011/10/01/jay-book-one-in-the-men-of-buckshot-ranch-by-xondra-day/

Treat yourself and indulge in the first book of a series that promises to be a damn good ride.

If you like historical settings, stories that are more about making a physical relationship work than any grand political schemes, this simple story, set in a much simpler time, may be for you.

a cute read with lots of sex...I would recommend this to those who like hot cowboys, sexy school teachers, hot sex and a HEA for 1886.
