The unlikely black sheep of an ivory tower intellectual family, Angel Martinez has managed to make her way through life reasonably unscathed. Despite a wildly misspent youth, she snagged a degree in English Lit, married once and did it right the first time, (same husband for almost twenty-four years) gave birth to one amazing son, (now in college) and realized at some point that she could get paid for writing.
Published since 2006, Angel's cynical heart cloaks a desperate romantic. You'll find drama and humor given equal weight in her writing and don't expect sad endings. Life is sad enough.
She currently lives in Delaware in a drinking town with a college problem and writes Science Fiction and Fantasy centered around gay heroes.

Angel Martinez and I have been writing together for many years. We had taken a break from a long running project so I emailed her and said I wanted to write collaboratively with her again but I didn't know what. She said alrighy, let's do something a bit outside of the real world. And I said, Urban Fantasy? And she said, fine but nothing with vamps or weres, the world is overrun with them right now. And I said, witches and wizards and fairies and magic? And she said, I have this bizarre idea. Let's rip a hole in the fabric of reality, drop all sorts of creatures in, and create an agency that has to deal with the resulting chaos.Angel Martinez and Bellora Quinn - Author Spotlight feature
Did you enjoy the freedom associated with building an alternate reality?
Angel: Always. Though at first, a new world is always daunting – so many little details involved in playing minor god. When you build an alternate reality, though, the world is an extra character and the nature of that character becomes clearer the longer you work on it. It’s an amazing rush, being allowed to conceive of anything your heart desires.
Bellora: It’s so much fun to take our reality and tweak it a little, or sometimes a lot. I think the best part for me is figuring out how people will react when confronted with a world where it’s no longer strange to see a herd of centaurs in Central Park.
